"OH YOU MADE MY DAY" is a brand centered around love. It features a series of fun T-shirts with slogans like "Cat doesn't want to work hard anymore, owner, keep going!", "Food is happiness, happiness is food," and "I really love cleaning up poop." These designs express the love of cat owners. Without love, how can one raise a cat? However, love has two sides. Properly caring for cats is a skill, especially when it comes to cats that aren't owned by the owner, such as community cats and cat store owners.

"Tai O Cat Journey" is an adaptation of Journey to the West, where Tang Sanzang journeys to Tianzhu to obtain Buddhist scriptures and attain the Mahayana Dharma. The cat riding the cloud in the front of the TEE design is named Feilin, a celebrity cat who lives in Fei Mao Village, Tai O. She's incredibly creative and loves posing for photos. We sincerely invite everyone to join us in Tai O to learn about cat Journey, learn how to interact with local cats, and promote cat conservation.

I fell in love with community cats again thanks to the "Tai O Cat Learning" project
Like many cat lovers, my love for cats drew me to Hong Kong's Cat Island. I wanted to compete with the cats, to check in with them... but that wasn't the case in Tai O. A chance encounter with German (also known as "Cat Lady"), the founder of the NGO "Tai O Fei Mao Li," changed my mind. We shared a heartbreaking story. Over a decade ago, Tai O residents hoped to adopt cats to address the rodent problem. However, free-range feeding led to a rapid increase in the cat population. Inadequate feeding allowed the cats to enter homes and steal food. Tourists, meanwhile, haphazardly fed the cats and left uneaten food, leading to bacterial growth and foul odors that impacted local residents' lives. The overpopulation of cats led to conflicts between businesses, indigenous residents, and tourists. Local NGOs, working with volunteers, launched a cat sterilization program. Drawing on successful "cat island" initiatives around the world, they hoped to completely address the overpopulation through sterilization. With the cat population under control and volunteers regularly feeding them, the fur of every Tai O cat has become lustrous. German simply wanted to take the old cat home and let it live out its days. Tai O residents have shifted their perspective on cats from viewing them as tools to catch mice to viewing them as indigenous cats, members of the community, and even family members. This reflects a growing respect and care for cats, recognizing their importance as companions. Residents are familiar with each cat's personality, and many visitors approach them to interact with their cats, demonstrating their hospitality.
As German wanders Tai O, he encounters local cats and dogs, and they approach him to greet him. If he encounters a neighbor on the street who needs help, German readily lends a hand with their merchandise. This embodies the spirit of mutual support that should exist among neighbors.

Many shop owners in Tai O operate a semi-free-range model, allowing cats to roam freely. Because they adapt well to the outdoors and have a strong sense of time and direction, they can freely enjoy the fishing village scenery and the enchanting sunsets, always finding their way home. Since every cat has its own territory, let's introduce some popular cat spots.
